Catholictranscript.org is the online edition of The Catholic Transcript, the official newspaper of the Archdiocese of Hartford. Archbishop Henry J. Mansell is its publisher. The Catholic Transcript positions itself as a unique publication that brings news and information with a distinctly Catholic perspective. It operates according to the highest standards of professional journalism, seeking to serve the Church in truth as it informs, educates, inspires and supports the faith journey of the contemporary Catholic.

The Web site is designed to complement the printed edition of the newspaper, providing timely information about the Church in Hartford, New Haven and Litchfield Counties as well as the nation and the world. The Catholic Transcript presents Catholic teaching in an orthodox and balanced manner. It is a member of the Catholic Press Association and New England Newspaper & Press Association and has won prestigious awards from each, as well as from the Connecticut Chapter of the Society for Professional Journalists. It publishes 12 times a year on the fourth Wednesday of the month and is mailed to more than 86,000 households.
