Abbey_creche In this detail from a 16-foot-wide Neapolitan crèche created nearly 300 years ago, travelers from all walks of life – and even a dog on a leash – approach Joseph, Mary and infant Jesus. The 14- to 16-inch porcelain figures were meticulously restored last year and are on display behind protective glass at the Abbey of Regina Laudis, 273 Flanders Road, Bethlehem. The abbey acquired the crèche 60 years ago from local artist Loretta Hines Howard. It is on display from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. It closes from Jan. 11 to April 4.  (Photo by Jack Sheedy)
