The New Haven Symphony Orchestra performs George Frideric Handel’s "Messiah" on Dec. 9 at St. Joseph Cathedral in Hartford. The cathedral's Schola Cantorum and soloists and the New Haven Symphony Orchestra reprised their performance of the Christmas section of Handel’s oratorio under the direction of the New Haven Symphony’s maestro, William Boughton. Dr. Ezequiel Menéndez, cathedral organist and director of music, performed Handel’s "Organ Concerto in F Major." The free concert was part of the cathedral's 2010-2011 Sacred Sounds concert series.
