Catholictranscript.org is the online edition of The Catholic Transcript, the official newspaper of the Archdiocese of Hartford. Archbishop Henry J. Mansell is its publisher. The site is designed to complement the printed edition of the newspaper, providing timely information about the Church in Hartford, New Haven and Litchfield Counties as well as the nation and the world.
The Catholic Transcript presents Catholic teaching in an orthodox and balanced manner. It is a member of the Catholic Press Association and New England Press Association and has won prestigious awards from each, as well as from the Connecticut Chapter of the Society for Professional Journalists. It publishes 12 times a year on the last Wednesday of the month and is mailed to more than 85,000 households. |
