CathCemDale Fiore, manager of Evergreen Cemetery in New Haven and president of the New England Cemetery Association, left, presents certification of achievement to Craig Neal, executive director of theCatholic Cemeteries Association of the Archdiocese of Hartford Inc. recently during the president’s banquet at the 107th annual meeting and conference of the New England Cemetery Association. Mr. Neal was designated a New England Certified Cemetery Professional, an honor that recognizes his knowledge, commitment and skill.

Mr. Neal is the 43rd person to attain the designation. Those who do must be be members of their respective state cemetery association and the NECA, must demonstrate their knowledge through participation in numerous NECA educational programs. The winner also is expected to have been in a position of leadership in his or her state association.

 A member of the Connecticut Cemetery Association and NECA for more than 14 years, Mr. Neal has helped guide one of the largest cemetery associations in the country. He has been a director and officer of the Connecticut Cemetery Association and serves on the program committee for the National Catholic Cemetery Conference. (Photo submitted)
