HARTFORD – Bridget de Moura Castro, music director at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, will direct her 19th annual 'Messiah' sing-in there Jan. 23 to benefit the Immaculate Conception Shelter. Guests are being  invited to bring gently used men’s winter coats, clothing, blankets, food, men’s toiletries or monetary donations.Professional musicians, including teachers from the Hartt School and members of the Hartford Symphony, will share their talents. Twenty-five orchestral musicians are expected to participate, along with 30 to 40 choral members.

Guests are invited to bring their own sheet music, but additional copies of the score will be available. The concert begins at 6 p.m., but arriving early is a good idea if you need to park close to the  church, located at 79 New Park Ave., Hartford.
