State Senator Michael McLaughlin will speak at a meeting of the Gospel of Life Society at 10 a.m. Feb. 13 at St. Mary Parish, 669 West Ave., Norwalk. A Prepublican who represents Bethel, Danbury, New Fairfield and Sherman, he is the minority whip of the state Senate Republican Caucus and is a ranking member on the General Assembly’s government administration and elections committee. In 2005, Bishop William E. Lori presented of Brigeport him with the Diocese of Bridgeport’s St. Augustine Medal of Service Award for his work at St. Peter Church, where he is a parish trustee.
