by The Catholic Transcript

NORWALK – The Connecticut Catholic Public Affairs Conference, Connecticut Network to Abolish the Death Penalty and the Pro-Life/Pro-Family Committee of St. Rose Parish will present a talk by Deacon Dale Recinella, prison chaplain for death row inmates in Florida, at 1 p.m. April 25 in the St. Rose parish hall, 46 Church Hill Road. Deacon Recinella will discuss the death penalty. He is the author of The Biblical Truth about America's Death Penalty, which challenges the idea that the Bible justifies capital punishment in the United States. On behalf of the Catholic bishops of Florida, Deacon Recinella ministered to more than 350 men on Florida’s death row and approximately 2,000 men in long-term solitary confinement. He and his wife, Dr. Susan Recinella, minister as a team during executions. He serves as a spiritual advisor to the condemned and she ministers to the inmate’s family and loved ones. They also minister to the families of murder victims. Deacon Recinella’s talk will follow noon Mass. Light lunch will be provided.
