FARMINGTON – The Curtis D. Robinson Men’s Health Institute at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center will hold its first annual Golf Classic on Aug. 5 at the Tunxis Plantation Country Club, 87 Town Farm Road, Farmington. The tournament will benefit the Men’s Health Institute, which addresses the prevalence and disparities of prostate cancer among men who are uninsured or underinsured, particularly African-American men. It provides free, private prostate screenings through a network of more than 30 faith-based and community organizations serving primarily African-American populations. Registration for the tournament begins at 7 a.m, followed by a shotgun start at 8. A luncheon and awards ceremony will be held at noon. Registration is $195 per golfer. To register, call (860) 714-4900.
