Members of the Brotherhood of the Lord of Miracles of Peru (HEMISPERU) bow their heads during a Mass in observance of the group's formation in the Hartford area 40 years ago. Archbishop Henry J. Mansell was the principal celebrant of the Mass on Sept. 14 in the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Hartford. Auxiliary Bishop Peter A. Rosazza, an honorary member of the brotherhood, was concelebrant. Organizers expect 1,000 to 2,000 people to participate in a procession on Oct. 19 through the streets of Hartford's Parkville neighborhood, carrying the image of Christ, a tradition that began 357 years ago in Lima, according to member Ricard Torres.
