Pushing classical music beyond its boundaries through the art of improvisation, Mr. Di Rosa shook the walls of the cathedral in Hartford with his arrangement of Franz Liszt’s “Fantasy and Fugue on Bach.” Photographed from the loft above are Mr. Di Rosa, at organ, and Ezequiel Menéndez director of music at the cathedral, standing. The recital was dedicated to the in memory of the late Vera W. Lavery, a resident of Windsor who died earlier this year, who was an enthusiastic supporter of the cathedral’s music ministry.
