CANDIDACY COMPLETED – Archbishop Donald W. Wuerl of Washington congratulates Michael C. Culhane of Middlebury, executive director of the Connecticut Catholic Conference, at the investiture ceremony of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta on Oct. 24 at St. Matthew Cathedral in Washington. Mr. Culhane was one of 60 candidates from throughout the country who were invested by Archbishop Wuerl, a conventual chaplain ad honorem. The Order of Malta is a lay religious order of the Church whose members seek to glorify God through their work with the poor and sick and their witness to the Catholic faith. (Photo by Nick Crettier)
