BIRTHDAY, PLAZA MARKED – Father Arthur J. Murphy, Pastor of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish in West Hartford, blesses a new plaza at the parish at ceremonies on Nov. 22 to celebrate the addition of the plaza as well as Father Murphy’s 80th birthday on Nov. 26. Acolyte Hannah Shea holds the holy water and Father Richard Okiria walks behind them with incense. On hand to enhance the celebration were the Pope John Paul II Assembly Honor Guard members, all fourth-degree Knights of Columbus, and piper Pat Whalen. A special Mass was followed by a luncheon party for Father Murphy with about 350 Parishioners. (Photo submitted)
