Three St. Francis Care nurses were honored recently with the first Excellence in Nursing Awards. Each received a $1,500 prize, funded by Joseph and Irene Triompo. From left are Kate Roche, executive vice president and chief operating officer; Susan Keefe, of St. Francis’ Palliative Care Service, honored for her advocacy on behalf of patients and their families; Stella Kimball, of St. Francis’ Unit 10-9, recognized for clinical practices in which she combines social and nursing skills to promote the best possible outcomes for patients and families; Renee Hardware, of Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital, recognized for caring practices in providing treatment responsive to the unique needs of patients and their families; and Irene and Joseph Triompo.
