Standing from left, are Sisters Rosalie Bean, Suzanne Brazauskas, Lucy Scata, Ann Kane, Jean Sauntry and Joan Francis Mooney. Seated from left are Sisters Jeanne Hope and Mary Kelly. Father Joseph V. DiSciacca celebrated the Mass, which was attended by Sisters of St. Joseph from across the United States as well as families and friends of the eight honorees. The sisters celebrating their 60th anniversaries, Sisters Suzanne Brazauskas, Jeanne Hope, Mary Kelly, Jean Sauntry and Lucy Scata, expressed their gratitude to God for the graces received and the support they have found in serving God’s people from one coast to the other. All are still active in ministry, serving as director of healing and special assistance in the Archdiocese of Hartford, teacher, spiritual director, parish religious educator, hospital chaplain, pastoral care worker and nursing administrator. The jubilarians marking 50 years are Sisters Rosalie Bean, Ann Kane and Joan Francis Mooney. They said they also have been blessed as they have served in parish and school administration, all levels of education, nursing administration, hospital pastoral care, and in direct service to people living with HIV/AIDS. For more than 125 years, Sisters of St. Joseph of Chambéry have been in the United States, taking on ministries in the fields of education, healthcare, social services, pastoral work, spiritual direction and more, all in an effort to uplift the human spirit and the dignity of each person, with special regard for the poorest in our society. The Sisters of St. Joseph of Chambéry is an international congregation of women religious with a presence on five continents. The close to 2,000 vowed women religious and lay associates share a common vision of mission and service worldwide.
