(Photo by Jack Sheedy)TORRINGTON – Generous bequests from three people with ties to St. Peter/St. Francis School have made possible a wide-ranging technology revolution for students, teachers and parents at that school.
Students in grades six, seven and eight will receive the use of 55 dedicated Apple iPad tablet computers, which will help them do homework, research and other educational tasks, said Father Christopher Tiano, pastor of the Torrington Cluster of Roman Catholic Parishes.

(Photo by Lenora Sumsky)BRISTOL – St. Paul Catholic High School might offer Mandarin Chinese among its languages in the future, or team one of its teachers with a teacher in China via Skype technology.
Cary Dupont, principal of St. Paul Catholic High School, firmed up his school’s involvement with some high schools in China during a recent visit to that country.
Mr. Dupont attended the first International Symposium on High School Cooperation between China and the United States, which brought together administrators from four American Catholic high schools and principals from eight of China’s best schools, as designated by the Chinese government.

WEST HARTFORD – When three outstanding high school senior athletes announce their intentions to play sports at three different colleges, you might expect one to outshine the other two. But at Northwest Catholic High School on Jan. 5, it wasn’t all that easy to decide whether Mary Deneen, Brian Poirier or Sydney Golic deserved any more of the spotlight than the others.
