sta_nd Bad luck for the Irish – Students at St. Thomas the Apostle School inWest Hartford enjoyed a surprise visit from members of the University of Notre Dame marching band and cheering squad on March 8. The band and cheering squad were in town to support the university’s women’s basketball team in their unsuccessful bid to topple the University of Connecticut’s women’s team that evening. Students at St. Thomas the Apostle were treated to a rousing performance and, despite their allegiance to the UConn Huskies, joined in some cheers for the Fighting Irish. That night, the Huskies defeated the Irish 59-44, breaking their own record with consecutive win number 71. (Photo submitted)
