WEST HARTFORD – This year's graduates of Northwest Catholic High School have been accepted to more than 200 colleges and universities, including some of the most prestigious in the country.
The list includes schools from the Ivy League (Brown, Cornell, Dartmouth), the West Coast (Gonzaga, Santa Clara, San Diego), the Mid-Atlantic (Fordham, Georgetown, Lehigh, NYU, Villanova), the South (Elon, William & Mary, UVa), the Midwest (Creighton, Michigan, Notre Dame) and New England (Amherst, Bates, Boston College, Holy Cross, Trinity, Tufts, UConn), to name just a few. Earlier this year, seven members of the Class of ’10 were honored by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation: Michael Deneen was a National Merit Finalist; Alexis Dahlem, Caroline Garger, Luke Pelton, and Emily Peters were Commended students; Joel Adifon was named an Outstanding Participant in the National Achievement Scholarship Program; and Kelsey Vega received Honorable Mention in the National Hispanic Recognition Program.
"We are immensely proud of our students and grateful for the supportive families and guidance counselors who have guided the college application process," said NWC principal and chief administrator Margaret Williamson. "Our entire faculty rejoices in the achievements of the class of 2010!"
