Family, friends, women religious and clergy gathered to share in Sister Mary Theresa’s joy as she professed her perpetual vows in the congregation. Bishop Macaluso presided over the ceremony as Mother Mary Jennifer accepted Sister Mary Theresa’s vows.
Sister Theresa is the daughter of Lucia Tinana and the late Geronimo Tinana. Originally from Quezon Province in the Philippines, she earned a nursing degree from the University of the Philippines and then came to the United States, where she resided in Jacksonville, Fla., for seven years before entering the religious community in 2005.
She most recently received a Master of Arts Degree in pastoral ministry from the Boston College School of Theology and Ministry.
She resides at Sancta Maria Nursing Facility in Cambridge, Mass., which is owned and operated by the Daughters of Mary of the Immaculate Conception.
