Sr MaryAnn strainFARMINGTON – Passionist Sister Mary Ann Strain has been appointed program director of Our Lady of Calvary Retreat Center.

Sister Mary Ann has spent most of her religious life in retreat ministry, as program director at Our Lady of Calvary, on the Passionist Preaching Band, as a preacher of parish missions throughout the United States and as a member of the retreat team at Holy Family Passionist Retreat Center in West Hartford.

She also has taught, represented the Passionist community at the United Nations and worked in organizational development and as a social media manager for nonprofit clients.

Sister Mary Ann entered the Sisters of the Cross and Passion in 1977 and was professed in 1979. She holds a master’s degree in religious studies from Providence College.

“I am excited to be returning to OLC at this important time and am looking forward to working hard to develop new programs that answer the needs of people today and re-connect with God,” she said.
