HARTFORD – Fifteen high school seniors, all children of St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center employees, have beeen awarded scholarships to help them pursue higher education.

The $1,000 scholarships were provided by the hospital’s “Spirit of Giving” program, funded by colleague donations. Awardees were chosen through a competitive process by a committee which read the students’ school records and essays.

In middle row are Alicia Ademi of Wethersfield, Cloe LaBranche of Ellington, Lily Varitanian of Vernon and Kaylon Brown of South Windsor. In front are Rose Lillpopp of Colchester and Sarah Mains of Newington.

Also receiving scholarships were Sarah Conlisk of Whately, Mass.; Jeyna Doshi of Windsor; Gabriela Resto of Broad Brook; Christina Rotondo of Glastonbury; and Mia Salgado of Berlin.
