The student council of St. Francis-St. Rose of Lima School in New Haven gathers around a jar containing cash raised through its Dimes for Diapers campaign, the council’s Lenten project.
Student council president Sammara Streater and eighth-grade members interviewed Mary Grande, director of the nearby Life Haven, a homeless shelter for mothers and children, to learn about the shelter's needs. Life Haven is located in the former convent for St. Francis School.
The campaign has raised more than $550 to assist the mothers and their children. (Photo submitted)
