From left, Evan Zimnoch, Ryan Purdy and Josh Neff, all students at St. Bridget School in Cheshire, get a feel for Apple iPads that were issued to all middle school students there at a ceremony on Oct. 8 at the school.

The iPad purchase was made possible by a $50,000 grant in July from a foundation that requested anonymity.

Father Jeffrey V. Romans, pastor of St. Bridget Parish, said the students had been looking forward to the distribution of the iPads since the first day of school.

More than 125 students in grades six, seven and eight were shown how the high-tech tools will be incorporated into the daily curriculum.

The iPads will be used only in the classroom. The school also purchased charging carts so that the devices will be charged and ready each day when students get to class.

This year marks the school’s 20th anniversary. (Photo submitted)
