As we celebrate the 175th Anniversary of the Archdiocese, we look back… on July 15, 1872 when the first baptism was recorded at St. Peter's Church, New Britain. The child's name was, Joseph Graff.

Priests, deacons and laity from the Roman Catholic parishes within Hartford gathered on Holy Thursday at the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Hartford to celebrate the Eucharist together.

Representatives of the cathedral, Holy Trinity, Our Lady of Fatima, Our Lady of Sorrows, Sacred Heart, St. Anne-Immaculate Conception, St. Augustine, St. Luke, St. Peter, St. Justin and St. Michael parishes all took part in the Washing of the Feet by Archbishop Leonard P. Blair.

Others shared in the duties of lector and readers of the Universal Prayer in the languages of the people of the cathedral, including Karen, Filipino, Spanish, Polish, French Cameroon, Chinese and English. (Photo by Bob Mullen)
