Father Cadoré’s visit was part of a two-week tour of Dominican locations in the order’s Eastern U.S. Province.

Father Cadoré, who is a trained physician with specialization in bioethics, encouraged the faithful gathered to pray this Advent for peace around the world in preparation for “the one who is peace.”

“Peace is always stronger than division,” he said. “Communion is always stronger than division.”

Father Cadoré, who lives in Rome, oversees the 800-year-old order that is comprised of 6,000 friars (including 1,000 in formation), 3,000 nuns, 25,000 sisters and 150,000 members of the laity. He was elected to a nine-year term as master of the order in 2010.
