Wiktor-2TRUMBULL – Vincentian Father Ronald A. Wiktor, 74, a resident of St. Joseph’s Manor in Trumbull, died on July 20 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Bridgeport.

He was born in Lackawanna, N.Y., on Dec. 26, 1935, a son of the late Andrew and Mary (Kurczewski) Wiktor.

Father Wiktor was ordained a priest of the Congregation of the Mission on June 1, 1963.

He attended St. Barbara’s School in Lackawanna; St. John Kanty Prep in Erie, Pa.; St. Joseph’s College in Princeton, N.J.; St. Vincent’s Novitiate in Germantown, Pa.; and Mary Immaculate Seminary in Northampton, Pa. He also did postgraduate work at Fairfield University.

In Connecticut, his assignments included St. Joseph Parish in Ansonia, St. Michael Parish in Derby and DePaul Residence in Manchester.

His assignments also took him to St. John Kanty Prep; St. Vincent’s Mission House in Utica, N.Y.; Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Pittsfield, N.H.; and Our Lady of Lebanon Parish in Niagara Falls, N.Y. He had been a consulter for his order’s New England Province.

He is survived by a sister, Barbara Peters of Charleston, S.C.; brothers Norman Wiktor of West Seneca, N.Y.; Thomas Wiktor of Orchard Park, N.Y.; and Damian Wiktor of Boston, N.Y.; eight nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on July 24 at St. Michael Church. Burial followed in the Vincentian plot in St. Michael’s Cemetery in Derby.
