As we celebrate the 175th Anniversary of the Archdiocese, we look back… on July 15, 1872 when the first baptism was recorded at St. Peter's Church, New Britain. The child's name was, Joseph Graff.

MORRISTOWN, N.J. – Sister Magdalen Fantigrossi, 93, a member of the Religious Teachers Filippini, died on Aug. 11, 2011, at St. Joseph Hall, Villa Walsh in Morristown.

She had ministered locally at St. Anthony Parish in Bristol and St. Peter in Torrington as well as in West Hartford. She also served elsewhere in Connecticut, as well as in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York, Rhode Island and Florida. She retired to St. Joseph Hall in 2003.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Aug. 15 at St. Lucy Chapel at Villa Walsh.
