BAYPORT, N.Y. – Sister Mary Schramm, a member of the Ursuline Sisters of Tildonk, died suddenly on Sept. 19, 2013.

Sister Mary was born in Richmond Hill, N.Y., on Feb. 9, 1940. She is the daughter of the late Louis Joseph Schramm and Marie Rita McGrath. She entered the religious community in Blue Point, N.Y., on Sept. 8, 1958, and professed her final vows in 1964.

She taught in Meriden and Stamford as well as in Ozone Park and Seaford, N.Y., and Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. In addition to her teaching, she coordinated PRONTO of Long Island in Bay Shore, N.Y., a community outreach center.

After her teaching career, Sister Mary served her religious community at St. Ursula Center at Blue Point, where she resided.

Her memorial Mass was celebrated on Sept. 28 at St. Ursula Center. Interment followed in the Ursuline Cemetery in Blue Point.
