HARTFORD – Yvette (Cyr) Couturier, 85, of Hartford, widow of the late Fernand Couturier, died on Oct. 12, 2013, at Kimberly Hall North in Windsor.

She was the mother of Father George M. Couturier, pastor of St. Dunstan Parish in Glastonbury, and Lucy Partyka of Manchester; and the sister of Jeannine Laraia of Punta Gorda, Fla.; and Verna Cyr of Van Buren, Maine. She also leaves a grandson, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Rosaire, Bertrand and Daniel Cyr; and five sisters, Donata Grant, Bertha Tardiff, Lucille Bellefleur, Arline Frenette and Corinne Duperry.

Mrs. Couturier was born on Jan. 16, 1928, in Van Buren, a daughter of the late Abel and Annie (Ouellette) Cyr. A longtime Hartford resident, she worked as a supervisor in central supply for many years at Hartford Hospital. She was a member of St. Augustine Parish in Hartford and later at St. Mary in Newington, and was active in the Southwest Senior Center at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church. 

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Oct. 17 at St. Dunstan Church. Burial was in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery in Bloomfield. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Dunstan Church Scholarship Fund.
