NEW BRITAIN – Anna P. (Potetz) May, 95, of New Britain, died on May 18, 2014, at the John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington.

She was the mother of Father Ronald P. May, pastor of St. Dominic Parish in Southington; and Robert May of Florida. She is also survived by a sister, Margaret Kropfl of Austria; a granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a grandson, Steven R. May; two brothers, Louis Potetz and Frank Potetz; and a sister, Mary Wishenbart.

She had been the housekeeper at St. Maurice Rectory in New Britain for over 30 years.

She was a member of St. Peter Parish and its Ladies Guild, as well as of St. Agnes Guild and the New Britain Council of Catholic Women.

She was born in Neumarket, Burgenland, Austria, a daughter of the late Alois and Maria (Zotter) Potetz. She came to this country in 1936 and lived most of her life in New Britain.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated May 22 at St. Peter Church. Burial followed in Rose Hill Memorial Park in Rocky Hill.
