SHELTON – Agnes Cecelia Shortt Georgia, 94, of Shelton, died on July 3, 2014, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late William J. Georgia.

She was born in Southbury on Dec. 6, 1919, a daughter of the late Henry Shortt and Mary O’Neil Shortt. She was a registered nurse and a parishioner of St. Margaret Mary Church.

She is survived by sons William L. Georgia of Roxbury and Father John J. Georgia, pastor of the Church of the Resurrection in Wallingford; daughters Mary Young and Dee Amrich, both of Shelton; her brother Edward Shortt of Florida; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Jack and James and her sisters Helen Tessier and Eleanor Shortt.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on July 9 at St. Margaret Mary Church. Interment was in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Southbury.
