MANCHESTER – Helen M. O’Grady, 96, of Manchester, wife of the late Edward O’Grady, entered eternal life on Dec. 22, 2014.

She was born in Manchester on July 18, 1918, a daughter of the late Harry and Mary McVeigh, and was a lifelong resident of Manchester. She had worked at The Travelers and Pioneer Parachute and then at Pratt & Whitney until retiring.

She was a member of the Church of the Assumption and a member of its Ladies Guild.

She is survived by her sons, Father Robert A. O’Grady, pastor of St. Mary and St. Robert Bellarmine Churches in Windsor Locks, and Dr. Richard F. O’Grady of Torrington; her grandchildren; her great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her siblings, John, Thomas, James, Charles and Mary McVeigh and Ann Kennedy.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Dec. 27 at St. Mary Church. Burial in St. James Cemetery in Manchester followed.
