obit-feiderleinNEW BRITAIN – Deacon Frank H. Fiederlein, 90, husband of Cecile Fiederlein, died peacefully on June 23 at the Hospital of Central Connecticut.

He was ordained to the Sacred Order of Deacon on Feb. 4, 1973, by the late Archbishop John F. Whealon of Hartford. He served as a permanent deacon from 1973-96 at St. Francis of Assisi Parish in New Britain.

Deacon Fiederlein worked for the Small Tool Division of Pratt & Whitney and was a substitute teacher in the New Britain School system. He became a certified teacher for elementary education and taught from 1966-69 in New Hartford and from 1969 until his retirement in 1987 in Newington.

Deacon Fiederlein is survived by his wife; daughters Laurie-Ann Dauphin and Nancy Arena; and grandchildren Sean, Lisa and Ryan Dauphin, and Carolyn and James Arena.

Franciscan Father Thomas Gallagher celebrated a Mass of Christian Burial on June 27 in St. Joseph Convent chapel in West Hartford. Burial followed in St. Mary’s Cemetery in New Britain.
