fife-drum 1298

An enthusiastic principal, Sister Carolyn Severino of the Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus; and pastor, Father Christopher Ford, greet and applaud their St. Mary School Fife and Drum Corps as it passes in front of St. Mary Parish during the Branford Columus Day Parade, said to be the largest of its kind in the state, on Oct. 12. Formed less than a year ago under the direction of Brendan Mason, the Fife and Drum Corps comprises students in fourth to eighth grade. It already has gained the attention of the community and other corps for the quality of of the students' musical and marching performances. (Photo by Mary Chalupsky)
