MANCHESTER – A petite pooch carried a powerful message about human kindness to Assumption School students during a recent visit as part of the school’s celebrations of Catholic Schools Month in the Archdiocese of Hartford.

The school welcomed Gizmo, the Wonderdoglet, a therapy dog, certified by Paws for Friendship Inc. He visits hospitals, nursing homes and other facilities to lift spirits and brighten the day of people undergoing treatment or therapy at these and other locations.

Gizmo visited with his owner and handler, Jenifer Adams. A member of the Mi-Ki breed, he weighs just three and a half pounds.

“This rare breed is affectionate, loyal, calm, intelligent, and loving and makes an excellent therapy dog,” said Ms. Adams.

Assumption School serves students in prekindergarten through eighth grade. Additional photos may be viewed on an event gallery on the school website at http://www.assumptionschoolct.com/gizmo-the-wonderdoglet.htm.
