Members of the National Honor Society at Sacred Heart High School in Waterbury celebrate “Read Across America Day” with the students of Maloney Magnet School on Feb. 27.

The honor society members shared the importance of literacy by reading books by Dr. Seuss and books related to black history to students in prekindergarten through fifth grade.

The students also met State Senator Joan Hartley, as well as teachers and administrators of the Waterbury Public School System.

This is the third year that Sacred Heart’s honor society members have partnered with Maloney Magnet School. (Photo submitted)
