From left, students Sabrina Louro, Ethan Alford, Thomas Dao and Jordan Walker pose near nonperishable food items that the student council at St. Gabriel School in Windsor collected during the second week of November.

The 19 student council members, all in grades six, seven and eight, sorted and prepared eight boxes of food for delivery on Nov. 21 to the Windsor Food Bank, which provides supplemental food for eligible citizens of Windsor, of which there are 461 registered households. This organization, coordinated by Windsor Social Services, relies heavily on the support of Windsor’s schools, religious institutions, civic organizations and more.

At. St. Gabriel School, students are encouraged to have a commitment to the well-being of their community
