Rebecca Durinick and Caitlin Malczon, students at Mercy High School in Middletown, pack coats in bags for delivery to the Coats for Connecticut project.

Lynn Curello’s business and personal finance classes conducted the school's third annual coat drive from Nov. 22 to Dec. 16 as part of a lesson on charitable giving.

This year, 257 men’s, women’s and children’s coats were collected at Mercy.

The statewide Coats for Connecticut drive annually collects gently used coats for men, women and children. Coats were delivered to Best Cleaners.
Coats for Connecticut is a project of Best Cleaners, the Salvation Army, Clear Channel Radio and Young's Printing. Best Cleaners connects and cleans the donated coats, which then are given to the Salvation Army for distribution statewide.
