WATERBURY – Sacred Heart High School freshman Amanda deLevie has placed sixth in the Connecticut High School Fencing Novice Tournament in Guilford.
It was the first time Amanda had entered the tournament, which was held on Jan. 28 this year. Her overall performance placed her sixth out of 38 female foil fencers from throughout state and qualified her to represent Sacred Heart High School in the state’s junior varsity fencing tournament on Feb. 4 in North Haven.
The daughter of Kimberly and Marc deLevie of Naugatuck, Amanda graduated from St. Francis-St. Hedwig School. She is a member of the high school’s band and photography club and is a student ambassador. In her free time, she is an assistant religious education teacher at St. Vincent Ferrer Church and assists with Cub Scout Pack 115 in Naugatuck.
