The Spanish National Honor Society collaborated with the organization Spanish Community of Wallingford to donate school supplies to Latina students who could not afford them.The officers of the Spanish National Honor Society created the inaugural “Back to School” drive to interact with the Hispanic community and positively impact the lives of local Latina students for Hispanic Heritage Month, Sept. 15 to October 15. The honor society's officers  met at the end of the summer to plan the drive and to create a presentation and flyers that were presented to the Mercy student body during the school's student orientation days.The society collected and donated backpacks as well as binders, lunch boxes and other school supplies. 

The Spanish National Honor Society is an academic society for students that excel in their Spanish classes. Each year, the society at Mercy facilitates cultural awareness activities, community service-based projects for Hispanic communities and various fundraisers.
