The strategy is to take on the competition by taking the test drive of the hybrid SUV launched last year in Europe and other markets – the new Sportage was an instant hit with its bold design and sharp curves.
The 1.6 turbocharged engine linked to the 48-volt Mild Hybrid system (MHEV) delivers 180 horsepower and 27 kgf per minute of torque distributed to the front wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. In Brazil, the two versions on offer, the EX and EX Prestige, will be powered by this mechanical kit. The difference between them will be in the level of standard equipment.
The EX is already complete, with six airbags, electronic parking brake with automatic stabilization, heated front seats and steering wheel, full LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, electric and folding exterior mirrors, smart key, dual-zone digital air conditioning, headlights Automatic, rain sensor and reverse camera.
Additionally, the entry-level version will feature semi-autonomous technologies such as frontal collision, blind spot and lane assists.
On the other hand, the EX Prestige Edition adds to this equipment a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control (ACC), a blind spot display on the digital panel, genuine leather seats, electric and ventilated front seats, LED interior lighting, rim 19 inch, electric trunk lid, butterflies for changing gears on the steering wheel, wireless charger, two 12.3-inch screens for the multimedia center and dashboard.
The prices of two copies of the new Kia Sportage were also set and slightly increased compared to what was announced to the dealer network. The EX version will cost R$219.900 and R$254.900 for the EX Prestige.
