Corinthians took another victory in the Brazil U-20 Championship. On Sunday morning, in a match held in C.T. do Dragao, in Goiania, Alvenegra defeated Atlético Go 5-1, scoring goals for Corinthians Pedriño and Arthur Sousa (four times).
In the crowded first half, Corinthians took the lead with Pedrinho and Arthur Sousa twice. Atlético Joe, in turn, dropped the penalty kick turned by Gustavo Caerce.
Still “hungry” for a goal in the supplementary phase, Parque São Jorge saw Arthur Souza score twice – the striker scored four goals throughout the match. This was Timão’s second win in the competition.
As a result, Timão moved to second place in Group B, which includes nine other teams. Vasco, Gremio, Internacional, RB Bragantino, Santos, Fluminense, Atletico-PR, Atletico-Go and Chapecoense are the teams that are part of the Corinthian group.
At this point in the Brazilian League, it is worth remembering that the teams are divided into two groups and play against each other in one round. The big four in each slide advance to the knockout stage. The quarter-finals and semi-finals will be decided as a two-way match.
Write it down, believer! – Timãozinho’s next commitment is now to Campeonato Paulista. On Wednesday afternoon, at 15:00, the team returns to play in its ranges, in Fazendinha, where it will face EC São Bernardo.
Coach Danilo had to put together Saturday’s team with a few tweaks because he didn’t have all the athletes. Cases of Felipe, Guilherme Perrault, Matthews Araujo and Robert Renan, who served in the Corinthians main team this weekend.
Under these circumstances, Timão went to the field with the following lineup: Cayo. Leo Mana, Joao Pedro, Murillo, and Vitor Mer; Zee Vitor, Ryan and Pedrinho; kaiki ferrari, Brinno Bedon and Arthur Souza.
On the bench, the Alfinegra team had nine other players: Bruno Carcaioli, Kawan, Renato, Thomas, Riquelme, Leo Agostino, Juninho, Wesley and Giovanni.
Corinthians started the game with everything and opened the scoring in just five minutes. In a corner kick taken by Kaiki Ferrari, the ball veered to the first post and Pedriño completed it in the net.
Parque São Jorge extended the score at the first 15 minutes. The second goal of Corinthians came from the feet of Arthur Sousa, in a well-made game and quick passes for the Corinthians team.
After losing Breno Bidon, who was sent off after engaging in a fight with Luiz Felipe, the Corinthians saw Atlético-GO lower the score. Timão’s opponent scored with Gustavo Caiers from the penalty spot. The penalty was marked for touching the hand of defender Alvengra.
At the end of the first stage, in the 43rd minute, Danilo Andrade’s men returned to hit the net. Arthur Sousa, once again, made his mark in Goiania after a low cross from Vitor Mer.
Corinth is back in the second stage still “hungry” for a goal. In the 13th minute, Arthur Sousa almost left his third goal. The Corinthians striker was quickly pushed by his tip, dodging the goalkeeper, but finishing off the finish line.
But in the next step, the player did not waste and left a hat-trick in the match. Timao player No. 9, who plays on the left side of the field, dominated and touched the left corner of goalkeeper Leonardo. Seven minutes later, at 22, Arthur scored again.
