The UK Health Minister announced on Wednesday (1) that the third dose of the anti-Govt vaccine will be given to half a million people with severely weakened immune systems.

Sajid Javed, head of the Ministry of Health, said the public health service would provide this third dose “to those who have been able to obtain less protection against the virus with two doses of the vaccine”.

Javid announced the move after the Vaccine and Immunization Committee (JCVI) advised the government to prescribe a third dose for people over 12 years of age with leukemia, advanced HIV or recently undergoing organ transplant surgery.

According to the person in charge, the third dose will be messenger RNA type.

However, Javed said the “third primary vaccine” was by no means a booster dose.

He explained that administrators are “constantly planning” to implement the booster dose program – which many countries study – at risk – including those who may benefit from the third dose of the vaccine.

The World Health Organization (WHO) says rich countries plan to use booster doses for their citizens, while other, poorer countries are unable to get vaccines for their people.
