WEST HARTFORD – Students in Meagan Kinney’s fifth grade class at St. Thomas the Apostle School are learning firsthand how to survive in a challenging economy. Through the creation of a "classroom economy," the students are experiencing what it’s like to hold down a job, manage their money and purchase commodities.

MIDDLETOWN – Mercy High School has announced that eight members of its class of 2013 will represent the school at the Laurel Girls State activities June 27 to July 3 at Eastern Connecticut State University.
Father Robert Ricciardi, pastor of St. Bridget Parish in Cheshire, celebrated a graduation Mass June 8 for 45 eighth-grade students who graduated from St. Bridget School.
Kindergarteners at St. Martha School in Enfield bounce their way toward a finish line on balls as part of the school’s annual field day activities on June 7. The school-wide program included such other events as a sack race, basketball, tug-of-war and water balloon toss. Some 30 parents and staff members were on hand to help the day go smoothly.
