BLOOMFIELD – Ernani Domingos will perform "A Musical Journey through God's Word" at 2:30 p.m. Feb. 25 in the chapel of the Archdiocesan Center at St. Thomas Seminary, 467 Bloomfield Ave.
He will be accompanied by pianist Miguel Campinho. Currently a student at the archdiocese's Catholic Biblical School, Mr. Domingos says his courses inspired him to develop this concert.
He started studying voice in 1995 at the University of Santa Maria in Brazil. Later, he won a scholarship to study at the University of Cantareira, also in Brazil. In 2006, he came to Connecticut to continue his studies at the Hartt School of Music. In addition to his performances in Brazil, Mr. Domingos has traveled throughout Europe participating in master classes.
He has sung locally at various churches and venues in Hartford, Newington, Enfield, Bloomfield, and Avon, and is the choir director at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Hartford and Good Shepherd Church in Manchester.
His accompanist is also an established musician. A native of Portugal, Mr. Campinho began his music studies at the Conservatorio de Musica Calouste Gulbenkian de Braga and graduated in 1996. He is working toward a doctorate in musical arts at the Hartt School, and has played master classes with many renowned pianists and teachers.
