In other words, the West side of Square Enix has been acquired by Embracer Group and, like the above franchises, is no longer part of the Japanese company. In total, the acquisition has approximately 1,100 employees across three studios and eight global locations.
Total purchase price $300 million in cash and zero debt, payable in full at closing. Embracer secured additional long-term debt financing commitments for this transaction and other ongoing transactions.
The transaction is subject to various other regulatory and external approvals and is expected to close during the second quarter of Embracer 22/23 (July – September 2022).
The Embracer Group owns several companies such as THQ Nordic, Gearbox, Koch Media, Saber Interactive and many other subsidiaries.
