Following in the footsteps of the United States, the United Kingdom has imposed sanctions on Putin’s daughters

The United Kingdom announced today, Friday (8). Sanctions on the daughters of Russian President Vladimir Putin And his foreign minister, Sergei Lavrov, attacked the “luxury lifestyle of the Kremlin-intimate circle” in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Putin’s daughters Katarina Dikonova and Maria Vorontsova and Lavrov’s daughter Yekaterina Vinokrova have been barred from entering Britain, where their assets will be frozen, the British Foreign Office said.

Washington and Brussels have already taken similar action against the daughters of the Russian president.

For its part, the UK has already allowed Polina Kovaleva, the daughter of Lavrov’s longtime boyfriend.

The head of British diplomacy, who had promised that all the sanctions taken so far after the fall of the Soviet Union would cause Russia an unprecedented economic crisis, felt that further sanctions should be passed.

“In the G7, we, along with our allies, are ending Russian energy consumption and further undermining Putin’s ability to finance Ukraine’s illegal and unwanted invasion,” Lis Truss said in a statement.

“Together, we are tightening the screws of Russia’s war machine and cutting off Putin’s cash resources,” he added.

The UK has licensed more than 1,200 individuals and companies – including 76 oligarchs – since the start of the Russian military offensive on February 24.
