Auxiliary Bishop Christi A. Macaluso presided over the Rite of Admission to Candidacy for the Permanent Diaconate on Nov. 20 in the chapel of St. Thomas Seminary in Bloomfield.
Father Aidan Donohue, director of formation, called the seven candidates in the liturgy, and Bishop Macaluso delivered the homily.
The seven new candidates will now begin four years of formal candidacy formation which precede ordination to the permanent diaconate.
