nwc lizaWEST HARTFORD – Northwest Catholic lacrosse player Elizabeth Oakley, ’14, signed her letter of intent on Feb. 28 to compete on the women’s lacrosse team at Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, Md.

The daughter of Robert and Stephanie Oakley of West Hartford, Elizabeth has been a member of the Northwest Catholic lacrosse team since her freshman year, earning All-Academic honors in the 2013 season. She has also been a member of the school’s girls’ soccer team for four years, earning All-Academic honors in 2012 and 2013.

Elizabeth began playing lacrosse in 2008 as part of the Glastonbury Lacrosse Club’s fifth- and sixth-grade girls’ team and served as an assistant coach of girls’ youth teams in Glastonbury from 2009-12. She is also a certified lacrosse official and has officiated youth girls’ lacrosse games for Glastonbury, West Hartford and Newington.

Elizabeth has participated in several lacrosse tournaments outside of Northwest Catholic, including the All-America Cup, the IWLCA (Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association) Champions Cup, the IWLCA Capital Cup, the IWLCA President's Cup and the 2011 U15 National Championship. She was also selected to try out for the 2012 Lower New England Lacrosse Team and the 2013 Connecticut Super Junior’s Team.
