GLASTONBURY – Two graduating seniors from St. Dunstan Parish have received the Rev. Joseph R. Bannon Scholarship.

Michael McCarthy and Ben Robinson received the $1,000 awards from parish trustees Eileen Cullinane and Robert Stelzer.

Father George Couturier, pastor, congratulated the young men for their hard work and dedication to the parish and wished them well as they move forward on new life pathways.

Mr. Robinson is a freshman at UConn’s School of Agriculture and Mr. McCarthy has been appointed to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y.

The recipients were competitively selected from among six candidates who qualified for the award.

Given in honor of the parish’s founding pastor, the scholarship is awarded each year to a faith-filled parish youth who exemplifies outstanding scholarship, leadership and parish commitment.
